National awards send company a cut above

A HUNTLY business has been named as the best in Britain in its field.

Strathbogie Forest and Garden Limited which has its base at Ittingstone has won two major awards.

The company, which draws clients from across the whole of Scotland, was named as winner of the 2017 forest equipment dealer of the year award and went on to collect the overall award for dealer of the year.

The accolades were announced and presented to Pete and Emma McArthur at the annual service dealer conference and awards in Oxford by Steve Parkin, national sales manager of sponsor Stihl GB and Des Boyd, sales director of sponsor Kramp.

The awards, in their 14th year recognise outstanding sales, service advice and support by dealers in the garden machinery, professional turfcare machinery, farm machinery, forestry equipment and ATV/quad industry.

A key part of the judging process included customer feedback. High praise received for Strathbogie Forest and Garden included, "They always go above and beyond the call of duty to get a job done. Their customer service continues well after the purchase of a product."

Judges said: "Following on from a purpose built new showroom and website in 2015, Strathbogie offer a variety of quality manufacturers. They stick to selling on quality and not on price and to cap all that the customer feedback was superb.

"Pete McArthur and his team are held in high regard by their principal suppliers – offering an unrivalled back-up service. Their product knowledge is second to none and they support a top notch website. In our view they are worthy winners."

Steve Gibbs, editor of Service Dealer magazine who organise the awards said: "The standard of all our winning dealerships has been extraordinary this year. An excellence which has been reflected in the quality of comments received from satisfied customers across the UK. These businesses are delivering a level of customer service which is only possible through a dedicated specialist."

Bob McArthur who bought the business in 2000 and is joined in it by partners, his wife Mary, son Pete and his wife Emma said that he was extremely proud of what they had achieved and the recognition. He said: "For a business of our size to win these awards against huge operators who were our rivals is a great achievement.

"Stihl use us as an example of how a business can be transformed and show other dealers how we expanded from the small shop on Bogie Street to our new showroom. We are all very proud."
