A BOYNDIE soldier who was awarded the Victoria Cross at the age of 24 after storming enemy machine gun positions is to be remembered.
Corporal Colin Barron was part of the 3rd infantry battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force near Passchendaele in Belgium on November 6, 1917.
He single-handedly rush three enemy machine gun crews, killing four German soldiers and capturing the others.
His bravery will be commemorated on Thursday, October 12 at 11am in the grounds of the Boyndie Centre.
