A SOLDIER from Boyndie who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions in World War One has been honoured in a ceremony.
Corporal Colin Barron was part of the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force in Belgium on November 6, 1917.
He rushed a German machine gun point, killing a number of enemy soldiers and taking others prisoner.
A granite slab bearing all the names of VC recipients during World War One has been unveiled at Boyndie Visitor Centre which was formerly a school attended by Colin Barron.
